Palm Tree Villa Now Open for Bookings

Palm Tree Villa has been through a tough time over the past few months, both for us personally and our guests, we know that our guests have been devastated having to cancel their vacations whether a first time “one in a lifetime” trip or our regular guests annual vacation.

We are now delighted to say that Osceola Country where Palm Tree Villa is situated has been approved to resume vacation home rental by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).  We are excited and look forward to welcoming home our guests, as central Florida reopens its attractions.

If you would like a quote for 2020, 2021 or 2022 we look forward to hearing from you.

Palm Tree Villa in partnership with our management company aspires to provide a great and safe experience for our guests providing a home away from home following best practices and guidelines set out by the CDC, DBPR and Vacation Rental Managements Association’s (VRMA) SAFEHOME Vacation Rental guidelines for Covid-19.

Changes we have made:

  • Along with our normal start up supplies we will provide a bottle of hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and sanitizing hand soap for guests to utilize during their stay.
  • All decorative pillows, spare throw blankets, plush toys have been placed into storage.  Please pardon our pixie dust whist these changes are required as some items photographed may be missing.
  • For all guest bookings in 2020 we are currently scheduling a 2 day gap between each guest stay, this has already been accounted for in our reservation calendar so any free dates are available for check-in.
  • We have placed 2 UV cleaning trays into the property to help guest sanitise their personal items such as cell phones, keys etc.
  • Information with regards to current Covid-19 safety guidelines will be found in the property. We ask all guests to abide by these during their stay. Our management teams are practicing social distancing we ask guests to follow and respect requests accordingly.

Current County limitations:

  • At this time in line with the county approval we are limiting guest from  NY, NJ or CT  to a minimum of 14 nights stay and request that quarantine rules are followed in accordance with current FL state executive orders.

Windsor Palms is currently undergoing a phased re-opening of the amenities, with the sports courts and gym now open.  We are also excited to announce the community pool has just completed a refurbishment and is now open for use.  The sundry shop and Tiki bar will initially be open on a reduced hours basis and fully opening as guests return to the resort.

We hope to be welcoming you to Palm Tree Villa soon, if you have any questions or suggestions around our COVID-19 preparations or guidelines please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Suitcase and a Dream

We always want Palm Tree Villa to be the best experience possible for our guests, to do this we recently packed our suitcases and our dreams to visit for a holiday.  Ok so there to be honest there is no such thing as a villa owner holidaying, we mix our maintenance with theme-park fun. Whilst the parks to maintenance ratio is not what Michelle would prefer we ultimately love spending the time and attention on our home away from home.  This year we visited in June and here are just some of things we got up to at the Villa.

The pool deck was first on our agenda for a spring clean as it is usually a lengthy job, with daily rain showers adding to the challenge. With a good pressure wash and a couple coats of paint the difference is phenomenal and very satisfying.  New soft and fluffy coral patterned pool towels were the final touch, we hope everyone loves them as much as we do.

There are many ways to plan an Orlando holiday, are you more of an advance planner or a see how it goes day to day?  I know we fall into the first category, however it is easy to loose track of the days whilst visiting.  Taking some Pinterest inspiration, we crafted our own vacation planner, to help you all keep track of your holiday.  We hope our guests will find it super useful.

Anyone who has already stayed with us know we provide some of the best appliances and technology available, with this in mind we are please to announce that the cable TV has been extended to cover the Star Wars & Frozen bedrooms providing the full 220 channels, complementing the Netflix service that was there originally there. All bedrooms received new alarm clocks, for the king rooms these feature USB charging ports and time projection, the twin rooms also got new themed nightlights.

We all have a lot of devices, to support this we installed a wireless mesh network to improve WIFI speed and coverage across the property.  Mickey waffles anyone, breakfast just got more fun with our newest kitchen appliance.

We hope all our guests will enjoy the improvements.

Added Touches of Palm Tree Villa Magic

Back in June 2017 the decision was made that January 2018 would be a busy month for updates to Palm Tree Villa. Whilst the major refurbishments were done during 2016, we take pride in continuing to make improvements and keep Palm Tree Villa a modern luxury villa with every “holiday” we take.

Whilst there were a lot of smaller changes the most noticeable enhancement was definitely the resurfaced and retiled pool.  With the addition of our new friends Shelby, Crush & Squirt and the spa waterfall. As Palm Tree Villa transitions from Day

to Night the new LED lights beautifully illuminate the pool in technicolour. The renovation would not have been complete without cleaning the mesh, giving the deck a lick of fresh paint and a brand new custom fitted safety fence.

For more photos and videos of the process and to see the finished pool checkout our Facebook page.

To ensure we keep that Luxury feel we bought a complete set of new fluffy towels which truly feel amazing, we even purchased some extra large baths sheets for added comfort. Looking around we decided to add a few extra Mickey Mouse features to the lounge involving decorations and a small piece of magic gift for our guests in the desk area…. whilst they last.

In the movie room we upgraded to Apple TV 4K, with the addition of more blu-rays, air hockey strikers and a fresh reload of new pins on the boards, all of these updated ensures there are many more hours of fun to be enjoyed.

The stay was complete with the addition of new board games and new signage so you know you are at the correct villa when you arrive, we hope all our booked and future guests will love the new extra touches as much as we do.

If you are yet to check it out, why not take a look at our Helpful Hints: Back Pack Essentials article.

Helpful Hints: Back Pack Essentials

Whilst the park bag checks slightly delay entry into the parks it can be worth it to have a few comforts that will improve your experience for a full-on day. We recommend a back pack with comfortable straps that spreads the load. It is also a great place to store any purchases to keep your hands free. Below are a few good ideas of things that are always in our bag:

Wallet & Tickets

Carry different methods of payment, a combination of cash and card, proof of ID (Photo ID such as Driving License) is sometimes requested for credit card transactions. Make sure you also have your touch to enter admission card or MagicBands to hand for park entry and for FastPass+.

Hat & Sunglasses

This is a personal preference which comes in many forms, regardless we recommend some kind of head and/or eye protection from the Florida sunshine. Oh and a little tip from personal experience best to stow any hats in bag before splash mountain!

Suncream

In Florida suncream is a must, make sure you pack one suitable for your skin type and apply as required. To protect your bag & contents it’s a good idea to place it in a sealable clear bag in case of incident. You may also choose to carry some sort of SPF lip balm.

Smart Phone

Pre-downloaded with My Disney Experience (MDE) App, this is one of the best way to monitor wait times, book FastPass+, get directions, check your itinerary and book restaurants. As a UK visitor we tend to turn our data off to save large data costs. The Walt Disney World Parks, Resorts and Disney Springs all have free WiFi to utilise, whilst this is a great service it can be a little temperamental so we suggest you take a screenshot of your MDE app daily itinerary to make sure you know the time of your FastPass+ and Dining reservations are.

Portable Battery Charger

Charge is something that seems to mysteriously disappear from mobile phones whilst in the parks. A combination of capturing those holiday photos, posting on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and using the MDE App. Trust us you will be please you have a method to recharge.

Camera, Spare Batteries & Memory Cards

This is a personal choice for some their phone is enough, but for others a Camera is important for those holiday snaps. Depending on the day planned we will vary our equipment. Whatever you choose to use make sure you have enough battery and memory to catch those magic holiday memories. Top Tip – If you didn’t purchase memory maker then don’t worry the Cast Members are happy to take a picture with your camera, all you have to do is ask.

Water Bottle / Hydration Pack

I know it sounds boring but keeping hydrated is key to having a good day in the parks. If you keep yourself hydrated you will not tire so quickly. To save money buy water in bulk at Walmart / Publix, it is much cheaper than in the parks. Just chill in the Villa Fridge the night before, then simply take it with you. To keep it cool for longer we often decanter into thermally insulated bottles or a hydration pack (such as a Platypus, Camelback) This is another top tip, we find a hydration pack means you drink little and often as you don’t have to remove your bag or ask someone to get it for you.

Light Sweater/layers

During the cooler winter months and even for some during the summer due to restaurant air conditioning this may be a good idea. A light sweater is often all you need for early morning starts in the cooler months.

Pins

Not wanting to miss out on a potential trade we always carry these with us, for us pin trading is a big part of our trip and a great way to interact with Cast Members and other park guests.

Medical Items

Pain relief tablets can be found in limited park locations best to take in your own for convenience. Another must is blister plasters, your feet will inevitably take a pounding in the parks, we have always been amazed how shoes that have never given us issue start to rub after a 12 hour park day. For these occasions having a small pack of blister plasters has always helped to keep us going.

Food

Taking snacks into the park can save dollars and great if you need a quick energy boost, great items are cereal bars, bags of nuts, crisps (aka chips) etc.

Items we don’t generally carry but should be considered:

Poncho

When it rains in Florida it pours, best to be prepared with a poncho or light waterproof at the ready. The ponchos are small and do not take up much space in a bag, either buy one in the parks (only available on rainy days) or save a few dollars and buy ahead of time. These can also be used on water rides for those party members (or bags) that you don’t want to get wet.

Autograph book & pen

A must for kids and adults alike the autograph book is a great way to engage with characters. Most Disney gift shops will sell a variety of books and pens to fit most budgets. Pen wise be kind and provide one of the large pens this will make getting those important autographs easier and present the book open on the page you want signed.

Walt Disney Word do have some park rules on items that are banned. Common items you should be aware of are selfie sticks, tripods over a certain size, glass containers and Animal Kingdom bans plastic straws. Please take a look here for the full list.

With new tiled flooring through the entrance hall, Living Room, Kitchen, Utility and Bathrooms this is a great improvement, giving a clean fresh feel.

All the appliances are brand new including dishwasher, range, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, coffee maker, Ninja blender, toaster.  New appliances also extend into the utility room with new large capacity watching machine, tumble dryer and handheld Dyson.  In addition the bathrooms have also received new granite counter tops, sinks and faucets for a more luxurious feel.

Prior to our visit in early May some of the newly selected furniture was already in place, the final pieces were selected at this time, with final touches are being put into place at time of writing.  We look forward to seeing the work completed and the villa ready for rental from mid June onwards.
